How does Hogamdo analysis work?

Hogamdo starts by detecting your face with Google MediaPipe technology, which extracts 478 facial landmarks — the precise coordinates of your eyes, nose, lips, jawline, cheekbones and more. These coordinates are combined into 11 quantitative metrics such as face ratio, eye size, lip fullness, jawline angle and cheekbone position. In short, it translates a subjective impression into measurable numbers.

Those 11 metrics are then compared against facial-preference data from 13 cultural regions and 139 countries. Because each country values slightly different facial features, the same face can score differently from one country to the next. Hogamdo calculates those differences and shows you the countries whose beauty preferences best match your face.

All analysis happens in real time inside your browser, and the photo you upload is never stored on our servers. The results are reference information based on statistical similarity and meant as lighthearted content — not an absolute judgment that any face is better or worse than another.

Why are the results different for each country?

Beauty standards are not universal. East Asia often favors a slim V-line jaw and large eyes; Latin America tends to prize full lips and defined contours; Northern Europe leans toward longer faces and angular jaws. These differences are shaped by geography, history, media and long-standing cultural traditions. The 'countries that suit you' that Hogamdo shows are simply where your particular features line up with each region's preferences.

Appearance is only a tiny part of what makes someone attractive. Expression, tone of voice, confidence and warmth — things a single photo can never capture — matter far more in real attraction.
